TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Dr. Overman specializes in a Jungian approach. He has also been trained in many areas, including humanistic, experiential, Rogerian, cognitive-behavioral, gestalt, psychoanalytic, family systems, and strategic approaches.
In his training and career, Dr Overman has worked in many different settings, including hospitals, community health centers and private practice and has experience with a wide range of people and issues. If he cannot help you, he can help you find the right professional to assist you with your needs.
Dr. Overman received his Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts in 2003, and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology (Chicago, Illinois) in 1986. He completed his predoctoral internship at Bethesda Hospital and Community Mental Health Center in Denver Colorado. Currently, he is licensed as a psychologist in both Colorado (inactive) and Florida. He has been in the mental health field over twenty five years and practicing in South Florida since 1991. He is a member of the training faculty of the Florida Association of Jungian Analysts and a past president of and current advisor to the Board of the Center for Jungian Studies of South Florida.
