Education, Training, Experience:

Dr. Overman received his Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts in 2003 and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1986. He competed his internship at Bethesda Hospital and Community Mental Health Center in Denver, Colorado. He has been in the mental health field for over 30 years. He is a senior training analyst with the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts and is on the graduate faculty of the Harold Abel School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Capella University. He is director of the C. G. Jung Center of Costa Rica (Centro C. G. Jung de Costa Rica) and is a past president of the Board of the Center of for Jungian Studies of South Florida.

Dr. Overman has always been drawn to helping people. Following an early period of introspection and visionary experience, Dr. Overman became interested in the psychology of religious and spiritual experience. This led him to the study of Buddhist/Dzogchen psychology and the psychology of C. G. Jung. He has received the Dzogchen pointing-out instructions (direct introduction to the nature of mind) from Dzogchen master Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, as well as teachings from H.H. Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, Ven. Khenchen Palden Rinpoche and Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche.

In his training and career, Dr. Overman has worked in many different settings, including hospitals, community mental health centers and private practice and has experience with a wide range of people with differing issues and cultural backgrounds.
